HOW TO RESERVE A PUPPY

THE AUSTRALIAN LABRADOODLE

MULTI GEN FLEECE COAT

There is a considerable difference between the English and Australian Labradoodle.  Although originally bred from Labradors and Poodles like our current English Labradoodles, some Australian breeders have spent over 20 years developing and infusing carefully selected other breeds to enhance the pure Australian Labradoodle and to ensure that it's coat sheds as little as possible.  There are very few breeders of PURE Miniature Australian Labradoodles in the UK and puppies are RARE.  The breeders of Australian Labradoodles in the UK have made huge personal commitments to introduce the breed over here and to promote their wonderful qualities.  At Doodledoos we adhere to the International Code of Ethics concerning the Australian Labradoodles and wholeheartedly support the Australian Breeding Programme to ensure the breed is not brought into disrepute and to preserve the Purity of the Breed.

MULTI GEN WOOL COAT

Sunnie is a Multi Generational Australian Labradoodle with a WOOL coat which is springy, tight curls and thick.  Sunnie's coat is slow growing and our Groomer keeps it looking tip top with 10-12 week trims to keep Sunnie looking smart and tidy.   Our Multi-Generational Australian Labradoodles have some ASD heritage in their pedigree lines, but are not 100% ASD.  So as not to deceive people, we call them Multi-Gen Australian Labradoodles with 'broken-lines' - they still have non-shedding coats and superb temperaments making them just as popular as the ASDs.

THE ALLERGY FACTOR

ASD FLEECE COAT

The Pure Australian Labradoodle SHOULD NOT MOULT.  Depending on the type of allergy that you have, the Australian Labradoodle could well be the dog for you!  Their low odour and low/non-shedding coat make them highly desirable to those who suffer with allergies.  Some allergy sufferers react to canine dander or urine, so it is important to see a allergy specialist to determine what triggers the allergies.

Also visit our Allergy Page for further information.

Because we share our home with dogs that DO moult, it would be unrealistic for us to invite potential customers to visit our home with a view to seeing if they experience a reaction to our Labradoodles.

Manorborn Jasmine (Jazz, left) is a Pure (ASD) Australian Labradoodle with a beautiful Apricot Fleece Coat that does not shed.  Her father is Horatio (Sunsethills Heartbreaker).

ASD SPIRAL FLEECE COAT

Preston is a pure ASD (Australian Service Dog) and has a FLEECE spiral coat which is soft, luxurious and silky.  As it grows in length, the curls form spirals which move and glide with his movement.  As his coat is very quick growing, he will need a scissor trim every 8-10 weeks to keep him smart and tidy.

TRAINING A LABRADOODLE

SOCIALISED IN THE FAMILY HOME

People often ask us if Labradoodles are easy to train.  The answer is 'YES', but that is not to say that they need LESS training than other dogs.  Because of their high level of intelligence, the Labradoodle (and especially the Australian Labradoodle) is keen to learn and learns quickly.  We advise that you lay down some ground rules before your puppy comes home to you and then you will be ready to implement them straight away.  We give you lots of help and written information to help you on your way and we also encourage you to sign up for puppy training classes in your area - not just to help your puppy, but to help you too!

Our puppies are part of our family while they are with us, and our young children play a very important role in helping the puppies get used to being held carefully and respectfully, and so the puppies learn to accept and enjoy the general sounds associated with busy family life very early.

Labradoodles hate being left alone for long periods of time.  We ask that our future puppy owners have time to commit to a new puppy and intend to provide companionship on a day to day basis.

SOCIALISING WITH OTHER ANIMALS

The majority of our puppy owners have existing pets at home and find that our puppies are friendly and sociable and very willing to make friends quickly.  Any initial anxiety from existing pets soon dissolves as the Doodle's outgoing and affectionate character wins them over.  In fact, the Australian Labradoodle thrives on companionship and interaction with humans as well as other animals.
