How to Reserve a Puppy

Two smart 50 50 brothers, with their new haircuts!

The 50 50 is a happy mix of English and Australian Labradoodle.  Incorporating the Stunning Australian quality coat that is LOW shedding and LOW odour, great personalities, fun-loving and gentle by nature and highly intelligent!  Large-Miniature/Small-Medium sized, they will grow to approx 15-18" to the shoulder.

The 50 50 Labradoodle is a term we use to describe a Labradoodle that is Half English (Labradoodle Origin Dam) and Half Australian (Multi Gen Australian Sire).  Not to mislead people, we sell these puppies as 50 50s, not Authentic ASD/Australian Labradoodles.

The coat of a 50 50 Labradoodle can range from a curly fleece coat to a straighter hair coat.  Generally in one litter of 50 50 puppies 80% of the puppies will have the low shedding, good quality fleece coats with more of a wave than a curl, maturing to a thick, luxurious and 'shaggy' look, which will need regular grooming.  20% of puppies (maybe one or two in a litter) will have a hair coat that will shed to some degree, like their English Origin Mum, and will need minimal grooming.

All our puppies are extremely well socialised and ready for their forever homes with basic training initialised.

Both puppies above are 50 50s.  Betty (left) has a straighter, hair coat that will shed more than Bella's (right) wavy fleece coat which is low shedding.

The 50 50 Miniature Labradoodle is the perfect all-rounder, fitting in to a family home with ease, provided you have time to commit to good consistent training, and plenty of love.  They are companionable dogs and do not respond well when left alone for long periods, so we prefer to choose owners who are at home for the majority of the day or those who can enrol family/alternative support when out of the home.

Our 50 50 Labradoodles are fun-loving, playful and outgoing, have a natural affinity with children, comparable in size to a Cocker Spaniel making them a great choice for those with smaller children/grandchildren/wishing to down-size.  Their low-shedding coats make them a good choice for those with mild allergies too.

THE 50 50

LABRADOODLE

Both English and Australian Labradoodles make ideal family pets and it is our aim to make available sympathetically bred, high quality, healthy miniature Labradoodle puppies bred from rigorously health tested parents for you to enjoy and experience their outstanding uniqueness.

A 50 50 Labradoodle is a combination of English and Australian Labradoodle (English F1 Mother and Australian Father).  Their outstanding temperaments, good looks and sound characters reflect sympathetic breeding and careful attention to parental form, coat quality and type.  We sell our 50 50 puppies purely for family pets.

IS A 50 50 MINIATURE LABRADOODLE SUITABLE FOR ME?

Our Miniature 50 50 Labradoodles grow to approx 15"-18" to the shoulder and to approximately 8 - 12 kilos in weight.  The Miniature size is ideal for those who don't want a dog quite as big as say a Labrador, but want one larger than Jack Russell or West Highland Terrier for example.  Their compact size makes the miniatures suitable for car travel (we recommend puppy crates for home and car) and for those who don't have a large house or garden.  However, they are popular with everyone - families, singles, couples and the older generation - simply because they are easy to care for, fun, sociable and a pleasure to train.  Occasionally there may be a puppy in the litter that takes after the Labrador side in coat quality, with a straighter more hair like coat but the majority of the litter will have good quality and low shedding fleece coats.

THE ALLERGY

FACTOR

Generation and Parentage are both factors in the quality and texture of the 50 50 Labradoodle's Coat.  Coats are generally very good quality wavy fleece coats with very little shedding.  A puppy's coat that does not cause an allergic reaction is no guarantee that a reaction won't occur when the puppy's coat changes in adulthood.  We cannot guarantee that you will not experience some shedding with the 50 50s coat, but many of our puppy families report that they experience very little shedding from their adult 50 50.

50 50 Labradoodles incorporate the best qualities of both the F1 and the pure Australian and appeal to many with mild allergies, and also because they are a little lower in cost than a Pure Australian!  They make a wonderful family pet because they are low odour and low shedding and not least because that wonderful 'doodle' character is always prevalent.  Again, occasionally there may be a puppy in the litter that has more Labrador qualities or has a lesser quality coat than the rest and will shed more.

HEALTH AND FITNESS

Sympathetic breeding by informed breeders has significantly weakened and in some cases improved genetic weaknesses in both pedigree (Labrador and Poodle) breeds - however this does not exclude the necessity for the vital health checks to be performed as a matter of routine.  Hip/Elbow Scoring, Annual Eye Tests and DNA Optigen Eye Tests should be routine practice for every responsible breeder.  With the additional DNA tests for Hereditary Diseases now a part of a vigorous health check programme undergone at Doodledoos by the time our breeding dogs reach maturity at one year old, we are confident that we have done all we can to give our puppy buyers peace of mind and confidence in us.

The Labradoodle is a very athletic and intelligent dog, easy to train and joy to own.  A particular lover of water and just as interested in retrieving as any Labrador, you will find the Labradoodle to be highly intuitive, agile and great fun.  We like to give initial training (eg.paper-training/basic commands/sound associations/collar and lead introduction) to all our puppies before they leave for their new homes, hopefully making adjustment into their new homes as easy and as smooth as possible.

SOCIABILITY

The 50 50 Labradoodle is incredibly easy going.  A real favourite with all ages, especially children, and very compatible with either existing or new-coming pets into the household - even cats and rabbits!  The 50 50 Labradoodle will easily adapt to a lively bustling family home as well as the quieter home, bringing a smile to everyone's faces!  Our puppies are born and raised in our own family home where they are kept clean, safe, warm and quiet.  They are socialised from an early age with our own young children and with other pets, so we are confident that we are raising healthy, socially mature puppies with stable confident personalities.

We are people who think that family life is greatly enhanced by having pets and that children should grow up to become responsible and sensitive to animal's needs, ultimately bringing greater appreciation and education of the animal world to all ages.
